Pharmacy Services

DHCA has partnered with Ocoee Professional Pharmacy (OPP) located in Cleveland, Tennessee, to provide medication management services exclusively for our clients. OPP offers high-quality, cost-effective pharmacy services, including medication management and medical supplies and equipment. With considerable experience in long term care, assisted living, and correctional facilities, OPP provides custom medication services to meet the special pharmacy needs of our facilities. Services are provided overnight through either delivery vehicles within a certain range of Cleveland or over-night with package services.

It's All in the Packaging

Packaging of inmate medications is the secret to an efficient and effective pharmacy management system. OPP packages all of its medications to include the patient's name and administration time printed directly on the package which facilitates nursing time in preparing medications for administration. The great thing about this program is that if the drugs are not used and have not been opened, they can be returned for a credit. No back log of drugs laying around your medical unit when drugs are ordered for an inmate and then he or she bonds out or is released.

Reduces the Chance for Error

OPP's computerized order processing system has been integrated into our telemedicine system assuring the highest level of accuracy possible. Facility management can feel confident that inmates receive only the medications they need, will receive a credit if any medications are left when they are released, and OPP provides ongoing consulting services with our physician services and mental health professionals to assure that we are only using the generic medications that are the most useful at the lowest cost. All of this is provided under the DHCA umbrella of services provided to each facility in our system.
